CWL energized the Chapel Substation as part of the west loop of the 69kV system. This was accomplished through construction of a 69kV line from the Melton to Chapel Substation (Phase I). Another 69kV line from the Chapel to South Substation (Phase II – intersecting and upgrading a portion of existing 69kV line on Parker Road) will complete the loop for Chapel Substation. CWL crews began installing poles east of Southwest Drive on October 21, 2020 and are currently upgrading to steel poles along the existing line from South Substation back toward Chapel, as weather conditions and electric loads permit.
