Poured Loose-Fill |
|
This is the easiest form of insulation to install, but also sometimes one of the most problematic. The material used for poured loose-fill is the same used for blown-in loose-fill insulation. It simply comes in bags that can be poured wherever you need it. It’s good for hard-to-reach crevices.
Over time, loose-fill will settle, which is a problem in vertical areas like those behind walls. It must be installed with the proper density to be effective.
Properly blown loose-fill usually has a higher R-value per inch than poured loose-fill because of the loft added by blowing. |
