Through ongoing analysis of CWL’s 69kV transmission loops connecting CWL’s substations to the bulk electric system, CWL identified the need for a 69kV transmission line from the Colony substation to the Hergett substation to improve the reliability and flexibility of the system. This line will not only place Colony substation on a looped (two-way) feed, but also enhance the system’s ability to provide power from the Hergett substation, one of two power sources for the City. Pole deliveries are complete. Easement acquisitions are nearing completion. Construction began on May 3, 2021. The project completion date is scheduled for the end of 2021.
